Creekside Dining Room

This elegant restaurant, just off the Lodge's Cathedral Lounge, features a menu of fine California cuisine with French influences and an emphasis on fresh, regional produce, meats, poultry, and seafood. On the frequently changing menu, a diner might see such house specialties as New York strip grilled with roasted potato salad, caramelized onion and bacon with a merlot reduction or chicken breast stuffed with herbed chicken mousse, studded with broccollini and served with a creamy parsnip puree. The chef's nightly amuse bouche (a complimentary "amusement for the mouth"), might be a thyme-roasted tomato with a mushroom-and-shrimp risotto, cilantro pesto, and bell pepper coulis, topped with a black truffle. The imaginative concoctions coming out of the Creekside kitchen have guests coming back again and again to see what the chef's dreamed up this time! While the mood and the food are refined, the dress code is relaxed.

Grizzly Lounge

Directly across the Cathedral Lounge from the Creekside Dining Room, this cozy, casual eatery offers equally satisfying, yet decidedly more familiar, fare, such as classic Caesar salad, Pacific prawn cocktail, grilled cheeseburger, and chicken strips.

Bear Valley Pizza Company
In Bear Valley Village Center. Open for lunch and dinner in winter, dinner only in summer.
Located next to the Bear Valley Sport Shop at the north end of Bear Valley Village Center, this cafeteria-style pizzeria is a family favorite. Some of the pizza offerings in this popular parlor are definitely a slice above the norm.

Headwaters Coffeehouse
In Bear Valley Village Center. Open for breakfast and lunch seasonally.
This tiny, yet friendly, café/coffeehouse, tucked in a corner of Bear Valley Village, dishes out a healthy complement of inventive omelettes, souffles, burritos, and waffles during its breakfast hours and fresh salads, grilled paninis, wraps, and gourmet pizzas at lunch. So popular are some of its specialties that Headwater fans are known to ski either the Lunch Run or more challenging Home Run from the Bear Valley downhill ski area down to the Village for a quick lunch, then take the free shuttle back up to the ski area to continue skiing.
